So when I first moved to the area I made a list of touristy stuff I wanted to see and do. I just stumbled across the list and wondered if any of these appealed to anyone else... or if anyone has any ideas for events of their own/any other 'must-do/see' stuff in the area:

- cliff walk and Newport mansions (have done the cliff walk, not mansions)
- Newport seal cruises (November)
- Plymouth, Mass - Plimoth Plantation & Mayflower II www.plimoth.org
- Salem
- Cambridge - Harvard Square and university + colonial mansions
- Cape Cod - Provincetown (possibly the wrong time of year now)
- Block Island (one for next summer)
- Whale watching (another one for next summer)
- Mystic Seaport + aquarium - $145 to get in the water with the Beluga whales (spring-fall)
- Massachusetts Museum Contemporary Art
- Worcester art museum
- Red Sox game and drinks at the bars outside Fenway Park
- The Irish Times - Worcester, Mass
- Skiing weekend

There was more on the list, but I checked a lot of stuff off.

Our Two Cents

OK - Newport Mansions is on the map! I have us down for December 20th for the Christmas tour. You can buy tickets online (link is included in the description) As always, make sure you RSVP so we know what we're dealing with.

Some great ideas... anything anyone particularly wants to do, just go ahead and organize, then post on here...

Archery is fun to do as well. There's Archery Lane in S. Attleboro.

Jim,

I will keep that hockey game idea in mind for a day I am not playin a gig...

I can't ski (artificial knee replacement) but I can tube at night and during the day!

I know a guy who knows a guy who is a friend of my sister-in-laws cousin's hairdresser who might be able to set up a thing at the Museum ofFine Arts in Boston some evening. I could look into it to get the details.

How about this, I run the Braintree Community Youth Center. We could bus to the Museum on a Sunday afternoon and then stop at the Youth Center on our way back to play pool (2 9' tables) play video games, ping pong, listen to music and have food. Only drawback to the plan is NO ALCOHOL at the Youth Center. But it would be a Sunday evening and who wants to drink on a Sunday evening? I know, right?! We could party on the bus and if we got 20 of us it would be quite affordable.

Ok, ok, ok, I'm just funnin' Holly! I know I'm only the same age as say Nancy and Martine' together!!

I've got a better idea on the two groups thing . . why don't all of the ladies and I go to the High Hat for a night of dancing and drinks and the rest of the guys go to a hockey game or something! Ya, nice idea!

OK the murder mystery dinner sounds fun, I have been to one of the mansions around Christmas I for got which one, but I enjoyed it and would be up to doing it again. I am soooo in on the skiing. I am not good at it but sure sounds like fun, we could also think about snow tubing at night. I have always wanted to do that. Never been whale watching but have always wanted to. Would anyone be interested in going to a vinyard for wine tasting? or maybe skip a wing night and do kareoke? just a few ideas. Oh and JIM STOP reffering to your self as ancient!!!!! Your a great guy and it's not the number that counts it's how young you feel. Look at me not bad on the floor for an older chick :)

Ok all of you kewl peoples. I'm gonna say that I'll go anywhere Justin goes . . . . . . . as long as he brings all of you ladies along!!!!!!!

What a great time I had on Nikki's BDay despite the altered plans and lost contacts of last night. I think the club scene should be done in smaller groups, say the "35 and unders" and the "36 and overs"!!

I think the whole group might enjoy a quieter place much like the Parkside (wings) so that we can chill and talk and be heard instead of being on and yelling and nodding poltely to things we didn't hear!

(boy I sound like an old man) No, really, some of you saw me have a blast last night, but it's tough to get to interact with each other that way. Some of both would be great!

Ok, I'm done! For now!

Night All,

Jimmy (gramps)

Newport mansions have great Christmas tours. I'll organize something around that, we could do a dinner down here as well.

I would LOVE to look at the mansions in Newport, go on a seal cruise, and either art museum. Also, don't forget the mention last night of organizing a Murdery Mystery dinner night, too! Anyone into that idea?

Salem is a fun time... especially at Halloween... Sox game I can do without... not a sox or baseball fan... I have done a lot of the other stuff on the list though... you should try to get up to cape cod too and Martha's Vineyard and Nantucket... Maybe we can do that as a C2U event...

I loved going on a whale watch in Boston Harbor. I'd also add the Boston Science museum because I haven't been there yet.
