I made it to my first wing night and had a blast. Lots of great people to hang out with and talk to bout anything. Sorry I won the first game Jimmy, but I know you took it easy on me..... Any way, if you haven't been yet, you must check it out.

Our Two Cents

Wow, now that’s sharing the love. I remember my first event was the 1k member night and I was amazed that everyone was friendly and welcomed me. This site is only as good as it’s members. Most people joined because they read the posts and liked what they saw. I don’t think this particular post will bring in any newbies. I really like everyone I’ve met here. I hope that members can put aside their differences. In the 7 or 8 times I’ve been out with the group I’ve never heard anyone bad mouth anybody. If you hear that happens just consider the source. People love to stir up crap that isn’t true. There is no need for drama here. Respect the privacy of others as well as their right to opinion, And remember, no one is better than anyone else. It’s obvious that event planners work diligently to organize activities for us. I’m sure they are well appreciated. I hope we can have an event filled summer of good times.

Peace to all members!

Little did I know that a simple comment would spawn such a pathetic case of drama. I can’t even remember how I found the site, but I’m glad I did. I’ve met some great people from the site and had a blast at the events I’ve attended.
Now I was under the impression that I was a grown adult (I know cause I wear pull-ups) who could go where I want, when I want, with who I want. I didn’t know I had to “ask mom and dad’s permission”.
Let me just say this, were it not for the site, I would not have met all these cool peeps. Mizmartini, Jimmy, and most importantly the love of my life. So for that I thank you.
Now in closing I will say, I hope everyone gets over this little tiff and gets along so we can all enjoy our summer and plan some kick ass events!!!!!

The site is what we make it. I personally choose to be at as many events and non events as possible. You guys have put together some amazing events and you have all proven yourself to be some amazing people. I like the fact there are a few things going on at once. There are some events that aren't exactly my cup of tea, and I like to have an alternative. As far as the potlucks go, I was thinking of setting them up for a specfic Sunday every month. Say the first or second Sunday of the month. Anyone else have an opinion?? And Jimmy I love you. I always thought of you as the C2U greeter. You are exactly what brought me back to C2U. My first event was scar, but you warmed me up to the crowd! Jimmy you make it on my list of Amazing C2Uers!!! Keep it up!!

Unfortunately Heidi, you couldn't be more wrong in your assessment of my behavior! I emplore you to find a single person that has heard a single ill comment or "bad mouthing" from my lips!

Although I decided on my own to continue to visit the Parkside on Wednesday evenings because I enjoyed it as much as I still do, I have never spoken a single word against the site imposed ban of the Parkside. Nor have I asked, requested, coerced, lead or prompted one single member to do as I have decided to do follow my decision.

Fortunately, I carry an ethical standard that most of the C2U membership have has met me, and most people that I've met in general, respecting my decisions and my actions. I have long understood the consequences of not towing the party line here on C2U by I have joined to meet friends and enjoy activities. I have not joined to be a member of a cult that blindly follows it's leader.

Now, knowing the peanalties for speaking out against the Princess, I fully expect to have this post removed and to have my membership tossed out like others who's honest words have met them a similar fate.

So, as my last line here on C2U I would just like to thank you for all of the friends and fun that I have enjoyed in these past 8 months and for your efforts regarding the site.

The crawl is a great example of how much fun this group can have. We had over 20 people for the Providence one and I hope we will have just as many if not more for Newport.

I'm looking forward to a lot more outdoor, warm weather events.

Soon to be posted, the next potluck will be a BBQ at Manny's house on the lake in Coventry. Also, there will be a HUGE 4th of July party there as well.

We have to get some blood pumping in this group again!!

If you think back to the events you attended (Rock Climbing, wing nights, thousand member, etc) and then think about where the energy to plan and promote those events. Those didn't just manifest on their own. If there is any reduction in large, public events - I would definitely look at your own behavior and the repeated report of "bad mouthing" that took the fun away from it and therefore the desire to put energy into planning events. If you would like that same level of energy put back in, I would consider returning more positive energy and understanding that we do this for fun...and those who aren't fun, don't get invited to the party.

Well, I was much more active before I became unemployed for the past 4 months. But my unemployment doesn't explain why there is so little going on here on the site now as opposed to last fall when we had many fun events posted.

It is up to users to make it more active....if you wanted to contribute to events in a meaningful way, you are always welcome to. It was more active prior because of the energy the site leaders were putting into it...All those events you enjoyed were the direct result of a lot of hard work and you are welcome to put the same effort in if you are so inclined.

Thanks Heidi, not so much actually. Just Wing Night at the Parkside! I wish the site was as active as when I joined last fall.

That place is too small for a bunch of us to attend. If you had fun there Tommy wait till you come to a real event.Like the Newport Historic crawl or Lasertag where the number of members are up way past 5 people.
